STRATEGIES FOR A WONDERFUL LIFE

Why Taking This Course?

What do we do every day from the moment we wake up to bedtime?

We make decisions.

If we are not deeply connected with our souls or, more practically, with our innermost desires, we often make decisions with external approval in mind.

Another issue that causes a lot of stress and anxiety is the fear of making a wrong decision, so many people end up asking for advice from close friends, consultants, experts in the field, and even gurus and oracles.

But obviously, these people advise through a more logical and rational point of view, without considering one’s desires, feelings, much less their soul’s purpose.

It is obvious that a parent will advise a child to have a profession that can bring more comfort and stability for the future; When one does not have self-knowledge and does not know what they want, following such advice is easy enough and creates no conflict.

But as the individual matures a little and knows more about what really makes their heart be filled with excitement, any decisions that are not aligned with their own purpose can create enormous internal conflicts.

Trying to please everyone near us and still being comfortable is a rather complex issue.

Thus, the initial focus of PEM is to teach the student to remove all masks from themselves so that they can look at themselves with complete transparency. Only after this reconciliation, connected with the truth, can we move on to a more conscious decision-making process.

In the exploratory process of meditation, the student will learn to evaluate all the points of view of a situation, taking into account all the outer environment (the others), as well as the inner one (their being).

What usually happens is that people fluctuate between making a decision that pleases the outer environment but harming their being, or making a selfish decision without caring if it hurts others around them.

PEM assists through the teaching of classical meditation, in which true masters have used introspection to search for answers and make decisions thinking globally. And it is through a deep understanding of the laws of cause and effect and free will that the student will have better internal support to make a decision that brings them inner peace.

Learn about some of the health benefits of meditation.

$

Stress Reduction

The practice of meditation can decrease the production of hormones associated with disorders such as anxiety and stress – adrenaline and cortisol. This effect goes beyond the practice itself, spreading throughout the meditator’s life and helping them to cope with all kinds of situations, and it works better than any medication for anyone who faces stress on a daily basis.
$

Insomnia

Meditating helps the brain develop and strengthen itself, as well as produce melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating the sleep cycle. Therefore, it also assists people suffering from sleep disorders. This type of disorder is usually related to other conditions, such as depression, for example, and in such cases, meditation helps to treat both the symptom and the cause.
$

Cardiovascular System Improvement

Several studies have shown the cardiac benefits of meditation, which may include, but are not limited to, a considerable decrease in the chances of heart attack, arterial fat, and heart overload in people suffering from hypertension.
$

Pain Relief

People who practice meditation regularly are more resistant to pain. This can help one not only cope with everyday accidents, but also deal with conditions that cause constant pain, such as migraine, arthritis, and others.
$

Immune System Booster

Meditation increases positive mental activity, which leads to increased antibody production and increased body and mental resilience, helping us to deal with simple and serious illnesses and more invasive treatments when needed.
$

Balance of the Endocrine System

The practice of meditation also increases the production of endorphins, responsible for feelings of joy and happiness, and serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, sleep, appetite, heart rate, body temperature, sensitivity, and intellectual functioning.
$

Weight Management

In addition to contributing to the decrease of arterial fat, the increased adrenal production of DHEA that meditation promotes helps in weight management.
$

Anxiety, Panic Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

The positive mental activity generated by meditation helps the meditator cope with the effects of anxiety and panic disorder, according to research from around the world. Meditation also helps in regulating cortisol levels, which can help people with these conditions and especially those who experience post-traumatic stress disorder.
$

Aging Reduction

This increase in density also has a protective function in the aging process, and people who meditate often preserve their abilities longer. Not to mention studies show that people who regularly practice meditation are younger than expected because of the positive effects of meditation on blood pressure, near vision, and hearing ability.
$

Concentration & Memory

A direct effect of brain strengthening is the increased density of the parts connected with memory and attention, aiding in concentration and mental activity. The longer the meditation time, the better the effects on attention and information tracking, which also helps in memory recall.

Disclaimer

This is a totally secular course, but I feel more comfortable saying this would tend to be a more ecumenical course, as we deal with universal philosophical questions. But it is important to make it clear to the future meditator that, in the process of meditation, we cannot ‘cling’ to any religious dogma, as the mind must be fully neutral and free of any judgment to achieve the expected connection during the meditation.

For the atheist student, this course may make a lot of sense, because although we talk about the concept of God, which can also be viewed as an internal driving force, our approach is very rational and analytical in every respect. It is worth remembering that there is rationality in the heart too. Therefore, in part of our course we also focus on emotional intelligence.

Our goal is to take a course in which we can have the freedom to talk about different cultures and philosophies without harming or disrespecting anyone.
